While mostly warm and dry, Utah’s weekend forecast was a mixed bag with isolated thunderstorms and increasingly smoky skies forecast through Monday.
The National Weather Service predicted high temperatures ranging into the mid-90s for northern Utah with intermittent storm clouds and the chance for showers — the same pattern forecast for southern Utah, except that highs were expected to creep into the upper-90s.

Smoke continuing the drift into Utah from neighboring states’ wildfires led the Utah Division of Environmental Quality to put Salt Lake, Davis, Box Elder and Weber counties in the "Yellow," or compromised air quality zone beginning Sunday; Cache, Tooele, Utah, Uintah and Washington counties remained in the "Green," or healthy air quality zone.
Salt Lake City’s extended weekend high temperature predictions ranged from Saturday’s 91 to a 95-degree forecast for Sunday and 93 on Monday; Ogden looked for 88, 91 and 90 degrees, respectively; Provo 91, 92 and 92; Logan 89, 90 and 90; Wendover 90, 92 and 93; Duchesne 84, 84 and 83; Cedar City 88, 84 and 86; St. George 98, 96 and 97; and Moab 91, 93 and 92 degrees.
