Northern Utah, having been skipped by heavy rains that doused portions of the southern part of the state, looked for a clear , dry and hot weekend.
Temperatures Saturday were forecast for the low-90s, up a few degrees from Friday's readings along the Wasatch Front. Drier and warmer weather also was on tap for southern Utah after the late-week thunderstorms with highs Saturday in the mid- to upper-90s, about the same as forecast for Friday.
The Utah Division of Environmental Quality awarded its "Green," or healthy air quality rating statewide going into the weekend.
Salt Lake City looked for a high of 92 degrees on Saturday, up two degrees from Friday's forecast; Ogden expected 88 and 87 degrees, respectively; Provo 92 and 91; Logan 87s; Wendover 90 and 91; Duchesne 83s; Cedar City 85s; St. George 96 and 94; and Moab 95 and 85 degrees, respectively.
