A motorcyclist died Monday after he collided with a car in North Salt Lake.

The motorcyclist, 24, was driving south on U.S. Highway 89 about 5:30 p.m. when a Toyota Corolla pulled in front of him from 100 North, said North Salt Lake police Cpl. Mark Nelson.

The motorcycle crashed with the car; the motorcyclist died at the scene, Nelson said.

Police were trying to reach the man's family as of 8:30 p.m., Nelson said. The man's license plates and ID indicate he is from Arizona, but investigators have received information that he recently may have moved to northern Utah.

Detectives were investigating the woman driving the Corolla on suspicion of failing to yield. Traffic on 100 North is controlled by a stop sign, Nelson said.
