One man was killed and another injured Thursday after they suffered an electric shock while working in Washington County.

According to KUTV, three men were servicing a water pump in New Harmony around 2 p.m. when an electric shock from the water pump injured one man and killed another man, who is reported to be in his 20s.

The men had a work truck with a boom that extends, the television station reports, and the truck came in contact with an overhead power line.

The shock started a small brush fire, but it was quickly put out.

The victims have not been identified as of Thursday evening.
