Murray police have identified the woman killed in a car-TRAX light rail train collision on Wednesday.

Police spokesman Kenny Bass said Thursday that the victim was Lorna Boguslawski, 72, of Jerome, Idaho. She was dead at the scene of the accident just before noon Wednesday .

Her husband, Karren Boguslawski, 73, remained at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray in serious condition.

Bass said Lorna Boguslawski was driving when her southbound Honda CRV made a left turn against the light from 300 West approaching 5900 South. Witnesses told police that the left-turn arrow at the intersection was red, and the TRAX barrier arms were down and warning lights flashing at the time.

The train collided with the car on the driver's side and was then dragged about 100 yards between the train and a concrete barrier wall before the train could be stopped.

Utah Transit Authority said the train's operator and passengers were unharmed.
