Utah forecast: Hot under partly cloudy skies statewide
The Utah forecast Thursday calls for continued hot temperatures under partly cloudy skies and isolated thunderstorms in the southern mountains.
High temperatures along the Wasatch Front will range into the mid- to upper-90s, while southern Utah's Dixie region will see highs well above triple digits predictions that mirrored the forecast for Wednesday.
The Utah Division of Environmental Quality, citing high ozone levels, gave "Yellow," or compromised air quality ratings for the mid-week to Salt Lake, Davis, Weber, Box Elder and Tooele counties. However, Cache, Uintah, Washington and Utah counties were graded at "Green," or healthy for breathing conditions on both Wednesday and Thursday.
Salt Lake City's high temperatures were forecast to hit 95 degrees Thursday, down slightly from Wednesday's 97; Ogdenites looked for 93 and 94 degrees, respectively; Provo expected 96s both days; Logan 92s; Wendover 95 and 97; Duchesne 86s; Cedar City 92 and 91; St. George 104 and 105; and Moab 98 and 94 degrees.
