Abigail’s father, Kenneth Kochman, confirmed the girl’s name and said a heart problem may have contributed to his daughter’s death.

Abigail was with other family members at Manila Creek Park Pond. She was swimming and playing with her family in a shallow area designated for swimming when the girl’s mother, who was in the water nearby, turned to find her daughter unconscious, according to Pleasant Grove police Lt. Britt Smith. The mother pulled the girl from the pond just before 3 p.m., Smith said.
