Police are searching for a 5-year-old Tooele boy whose mother allegedly disappeared with him before she was set to lose custody.

Noah Gardner’s mother took him Aug. 3, and family members last heard from the pair Tuesday, said Lt. Paul Wimmer. Investigators are concerned because his mother, 41-year-old Gina E. Cross, suffers from mental illness.
