Folks watch as balloons fill and rise in the mass sunrise ascension from Storm Mountain Park in Sandy Friday morning for the The Sandy Balloon Festival. The festival continues with a ballon glow Saturday evening at the South Towne Promenade in front of Sandy City Hall.

The Sandy Balloon Festival launched Friday morning with the first of two scheduled sunrise launches.
Another launch — weather permitting — is scheduled for 7 a.m. Saturday at Storm Mountain Park, 11400 S. 1000 East. A balloon glow — lighting from within of the inflated balloons on the ground — is set for 8 p.m. Saturday at the South Towne Promenade in front of Sandy City Hall, 173 W. 10000 South, with food vendors and live entertainment.
