Pearl Jam once opined, "One more day in hell, how much difference does it make?" That could’ve have been a grunge rock forecast for Utah heading into the weekend.
Northern Utahns faced high temperatures around 100 on Friday, a couple degrees hotter than Thursday’s forecast. To the south, the mercury sizzled as high as 107 both days. But Friday night and Saturday, both regions expected the advent of thunderstorms and rainfall — and temperature drops of 5-10 degrees.

So, Eddie Vedder, to answer the question: Not much of a difference, but welcome, nonetheless.
With wildfires still filling the skies with haze, air quality in Salt Lake, Davis, Box Elder, Tooele, Utah and Weber counties was forecast to be "Yellow," or compromised on Friday. Only Cache, Uintah and Washington counties won "Green," or healthy air quality grades from the Utah Division of Environmental Quality.
Salt Lake City looked for a high Friday of 100 degrees, up slightly from Thursday’s forecast for 99; Ogden was pegged at 97 and 96 degrees, respectively; Provo 100 and 99; Logan 96 and 97; Wendover 98 and 99; Cedar City 95 degrees both days; St. George 106 and 107; and Moab 98 and 101 degrees.
