Utah forecast: Hot, with periodic thunderstorm relief

First Published Aug 04 2012 07:27 am • Last Updated Aug 04 2012 04:23 pm

Afternoon and evening thunderstorms, along with scattered rain showers, were expected to provide periodic relief from the heat through Utah’s weather weekend.

But the National Weather Service still predicted high temperatures in the low-to mid-90s for northern Utah and nearing and sometimes topping triple digits in the southern reaches of the state through Monday.
