Here's your weekly roundup of what local city councils, school boards and other government entities are tackling during regularly scheduled meetings. All meetings are open to the public, and citizens are welcome to voice their opinions during designated times. If you do wish to speak at a particular meeting, you may need to sign up in advance.

Bluffdale City Planning Commission • A public hearing on an application for a commercial site plan for Point of the Mountain Storage Phase 2, at 618 W. 15200 South; Tuesday, August 7, 7 p.m., Bluffdale City Fire Station, 14350 S. 2200 West, Bluffdale.

Bluffdale City Board of Adjustments • Public hearing on a proposed variance from the front and/or side setback requirements for a primary structure on the Pacific Bay Phase 2 subdivision plat, 14111 S. Provo City Planning Commission • Public hearing on the Community Development Department's request for a modification to the Design Guidelines that pertain to the proposed Low Density Residential, Medium Density Residential, High Density Residential, Campus High Density Residential and Campus Mixed Use zones, to allow for more flexibility in design; Wednesday, Aug. 8, 5 p.m., 351 W. Riverton City Planning Commission • Public hearing on proposed amended architecture of Cedar Hollow Town Homes, a 42-unit development at 11812 S. Redwood Road.; Thursday, Aug. 9, 6:30 p.m., 12830 S. 1700 West, Riverton.

South Davis Metro Fire Agency • Davis County and four cities that are part of the South Davis Metro Fire Agency are holding hearings on Tuesday, Aug. 7, on a proposal to revise one-time impact fees for fire and emergency medical services. The county hearing will take place at 10 a.m. at the Davis County Memorial Courthouse, 28 E. State St. in Farmington. The other hearings are slated for 7 p.m. at City Hall in Centerville, 250 N. Main St.; North Salt Lake, 10 E. Center St.; West Bountiful, 550 N. 800 West (the city has listed its hearing as starting at 7:45 p.m.); and Woods Cross, 1555 S. 800 West. View the hearing notice.

South Jordan City Council • Will hold a public hearing and possibly take action on an ordinance concerning business licenses for retail tobacco specialty shops; Tuesday, Aug. 7, 6 p.m., City Hall, 1600 W. Towne Center Dr., South Jordan. View the South Jordan agenda.

Taylorsville City Council » Will discuss at a work session electronic billboards, the animal shelter and adoption of a fee schedule for special use parks but not take any votes; Wednesday, Aug. 8, 6 p.m., 2600 W. Taylorsville Blvd. (5325 South), Taylorsville. View the Taylorsville agenda.

Utah County Commission • Will approve and authorize the commission chair to sign amendments and contracts with a number of groups for substance abuse treatment services; Tuesday, Aug. 7, 100 East Center St., Provo. View the Utah County agenda.

West Bountiful City Council • Will hold a hearing to adopt revised one-time impact fees for fire and emergency medical services; Tuesday, Aug. 7, 7:30 p.m., 550 N. 800 West, West Bountiful. (The hearing is slated to begin at 7:45 p.m.)

West Jordan City Council • Will discuss and possibly vote on allowing beekeeping in residential areas; Wednesday, Aug. 8, 6 p.m., 3rd Floor Council Chambers, 8000 S. Redwood Rd., West Jordan. View the West Jordan agenda.

West Valley City Council • Has canceled its meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 7, so council members can participate in National Night Out activities.

Woods Cross City Council • Will hold a hearing on a request to adopt revised one-time impact fees for fire and emergency medical services; Tuesday, Aug. 7, 7 p.m., 1555 S. 800 West, Woods Cross. (The fire impact hearing will begin at 7 p.m. or later).
