An 11-year-old was in critical condition following an ATV crash near Coalville on Tuesday.
The child was driving an ATV with another 11-year-old about 3 p.m. on private property 14 miles east of Coalville, according to a press statement by the Summit County Sheriff’s Department. The boy lost control and rolled off the road; his helmet apparently came off during the crash, deputies wrote.

The boy suffered head trauma and was flown to a hospital, deputies wrote. The passenger was not injured.
