hree cyclists were injured Saturday during a bike race that started in Park City, police said.

The riders suffered broken bones, cuts and bruises in the approximately 8:30 a.m. crash near Rockport Dam, said Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Dan Altenes.

Jill Damman, 35, of Midway, was flown to University Hospital with a head injury, the UHP said. Christopher Marden, 50, of Cedar Hills, and another cyclist were taken by ambulance to a hospital.

The cyclists are expected to recover. The group crashed when they hit a damaged section of the road, the Highway Patrol said. The three were competing in the Tour de Park City, Summit County dispatchers said.
