The last of the state's most recent major wildfires, the Baboon blaze in southwestern Utah, should be 100 percent contained sometime Thursday.

Fire information officer Nick Howell said that as of Wednesday afternoon, the lightning-caused blaze six miles north of Minersville was 95 percent contained. The fire had burned 20,732 acres of mixed brush, pinyon and juniper since it was first spotted on July 20.

No structures were threatened, no evacuations were in place and no injuries had been reported. The fire's behavior was characterized by Howell as "minimal, smoldering and creeping."

About 80 firefighters were battling the blaze on Wednesday, assisted in the air by a water- and fire retardant-bearing helicopter.
