Searchers find woman lost in Utah mountains

A woman who went missing in the Uinta Mountains was found on Sunday in good condition.

The 20-year-old woman from Salt Lake City was camping with her brother and friends at Ruth Lake when she went to walk her dog about 2 p.m. Saturday and disappeared.

"She just flat went to walk the dog and got lost," said Summit County Sheriff’s Sgt. Ron Bridge.

The woman and the dog, a black Labrador retriever named Sage, spent a night in the woods. Bridge said the woman carried no supplies and was not dressed for overnight weather. Bridge said the temperatures dropped to about 50 degrees, and there was occasional rain.

But about 10 a.m. Sunday, staff from Summit County Search and Rescue found the woman and Sage about three miles from the lake.
