A wildfire burning in Maple Canyon, west of Wales in Sanpete County, had consumed 10 to 15 acres by 4 p.m. and had prompted evacuations.
Sheriff's deputies and the Moroni Police Department were working to evacuate the area, according to tweets from the Sanpete Sheriff's Office.
Only limited information is available about the wildfire at this time, but officials said it is growing quickly.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to the website utahfireinfo.gov
Wales is located about five miles southwest of Moroni.
