Two people are dead after a personal watercraft collision in the San Juan arm of Lake Powell on Friday.

According to the National Parks Service, members of a family from New Mexico were on two watercraft near Peekaboo Arch when one watercraft slowed down, and the other did not, causing a collision.

Two adults died in the accident, and one juvenile female was taken to a local hospital and later released. The victims were not identified Saturday.

Officials from Utah State Parks, the San Juan County Sheriff's Office and the National Park Service will investigate the incident.
