Here's your weekly roundup of what local city councils, school boards and other government entities are tackling during regularly scheduled meetings. All meetings are open to the public, and citizens are welcome to voice their opinions during designated times. If you do wish to speak at a particular meeting, you may need to sign up in advance.

Salt Lake County Council • Will certify the results of the June 26 primary election, including the hotly contested GOP mayoral race; Tuesday, July 10, 4 p.m., Council Chambers, North Building, County Government Center, 2001 S. State St. At a 2:30 p.m. work session in Room 2003 of that building, the council will receive a report from the Mayor's Office on design plans for the Capitol Theatre renovation and a request from civilian employees of the Sheriff's Office for an election to determine if they may join the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees union. From 9 to 10:30 a.m. in Room 2003, council members and officials from cities in the valley will continue discussion as the "Committee on the Future of Salt Lake County."
South Jordan Planning Commission » Will consider multi-family subdivision in Daybreak, also a conditional use permit for a new gas station and convenience store at 11415 S.
