Sandy police were investigating a shooting Saturday that left one man dead.

At about 3:15 p.m., police responded to a report of a man with a gunshot wound at Windmill Cove Apartments at 9640 South and Brandy Spring Lane (150 West).

Police took one man into custody without incident. Sgt. Jon Arnold said the man had a gun in his hand.

The victim was transported to a hospital in critical condition. Police say he later died from multiple gunshot wounds. The man was not identified Saturday evening, pending family notification.

Arnold said the shooting appeared to be a domestic-related situation, but police were still investigating.
