Monday heat will give way to Tuesday cool in northern Utah

Salt Lake City and Provo temperatures will be in the mid-90s on Monday, then are predicted to fall by perhaps 20 degrees on Tuesday.

The change means the cities will spend consecutive days on both sides of normal. The National Weather Service says the average daytime high for this time of year is 84 degrees.

Monday temperatures are expected to be near or into the 90s for most of northern Utah. The weather service is calling for St. George to reach 103 degrees and Lake Powell to reach 106.

The southern half of the state will have less relief on Tuesday, dropping to only the mid-90s.

Monday is expected to be windy across the state.
