Police were looking for a gun-toting bicyclist in connection with a shooting and robbery late Monday night in west Salt Lake City.

The victim told officers he was sitting in his car when an African-American male rode up on a bicycle and opened fire with a handgun. The man then purportedly stole the victim’s wallet and pedaled away.

The victim was able to drive himself home and a relative then took him to the emergency room, where he was treated for the non-life threatening wound.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call police at 801-799-3000.
