South Salt Lake Police on Monday identified a 26-year-old woman who was killed Sunday when her vehicle drifted into oncoming traffic and collided with a vehicle stopped at a traffic light.

Randi M. Byers of West Valley City was driving a Cadillac west of 3300 South at West Temple when her car drifted into the eastbound lanes, crashing into a Hyundai that was stopped at the traffic light, police said.

Byers was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene, police said. The Byers' passenger, a 50-year-old woman who was wearing a seatbelt, remained hospitalized in "very critical" condition on Monday, police said.

The two occupants of the Hyundai — a 16-year-old girl and a 19-year-old man — suffered critical injuries, but were upgraded Monday to serious and stable condition, police said. Both were wearing seatbelts.
