An anonymous tip led Salt Lake City police to two brothers wanted for killing a man in San Jose, Calif.

Salt Lake police detective Carlie Wiechman said a city bicycle officer was following up on a tip that the brothers were seen near a downtown homeless shelter when he found Jonathan Bess, 21, and Brian Bess, 23, about 3 p.m. Wednesday near 270 S. Main St.

Wiechman said they both had homicide warrants out.

She didn't have any information about how long the brothers had been staying in Utah or why they would have come to the area.

The San Jose Police Department did not immediately return a message left seeking comment.

The San Jose Mercury News reported that the brothers are wanted in connection with the April 27 stabbing death of a 51-year-old man at his home.
