Here's your weekly roundup of what local city councils, school boards and other government entities are tackling during regularly scheduled meetings. All meetings are open to the public, and citizens are welcome to voice their opinions during designated times. If you do wish to speak at a particular meeting, you may need to sign up in advance.

Salt Lake City Council • Acting as the Redevelopment Agency Board, the council will consider negotiations with Property Reserve Inc. (the real estate arm of the LDS Church) for potential acquisition of Main Street property for the Utah Performing Arts Center; Tuesday, May 8, 2 p.m., at City Hall, 451 S. State. At 7 p.m., the council will consider amending the city's anti-idling ordinance to conform to a new state statute.

Salt Lake County Council • Will consider a resolution authorizing the issuance of up to $52 million in sales-tax revenue bonds to cover part of the costs of constructing new buildings for fleet management, human services and the district attorney; Tuesday, May 8, 4 p.m., County Government Center, 2001 S. State. At its earlier work session, starting at 1:30 p.m., the council will receive an update on sales tax figures for February. At a 10 a.m. study session in Room 2003 of the North Building, council members also will discuss the process of selecting a blue-ribbon commission to oversee the revision of the Foothills and Canyons Overlay Zone (FCOZ) ordinance and a proposed $123 million park bond.

Provo Board of Education • Discusses school fees, including significant increases in some high school fees; Tuesday, May 8, 5 p.m., 280 W. 940 North, Provo. See the complete Provo agenda.

Cedar Hills City Council • Votes on hiring a forensic auditor to review the city's finances from Jan. 2010 to the present; Tuesday, May 8, 6 p.m., in the Public Works Building, 10246 N. Canyon Road.

Jordan Board of Education • Meets in a study session to discuss budget proposals for 2012-13, among other items; Tuesday, May 8, 4:30 p.m., 7905 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan. The board breaks for dinner from 5:30-6:30 p.m., then resumes the session. View the Jordan agenda.

West Jordan City Council • Holds hearing and takes public comment on federal Community Development Block Grant funding. West Valley City Council • Will receive updates at its study meeting on the Mountain View Corridor and the West Valley-Taylorsville Animal Shelter; Tuesday, May 8; 4:30 p.m.; 3600 S. Bountiful City Council • Holds a public hearing to continue a discussion on amendments to the city land use ordinance. Clearfield City Council • Holds a public hearing and considers approving the Community Development Block Grant action plan for fiscal 2013. Syracuse City Council • Holds a public hearing on the proposed annexation into the city of 20.66 acres at approximately 3700 South and 1500 West.
