A dry and windy weekend was forecast for Utah, along with a modest warming trend as the state moves into early next week.
While winds of 15-25 mph could amount some anxious moments for hat wearers in northern Utah, the National Weather Service warned that those gusts, when combined with very dry conditions, led to a "Red Flag" or critical fire danger warning for southwestern Utah.

However, the unsettled weather meant "Green" or good air quality grades for the entire state, the Utah Division of Environmental Quality reported.
High temperatures in northern Utah were expected to gradually increase from Saturday’s low-60s into the mid- to high-60s Sunday and Monday, respectively. To the south, the mercury was expected to climb from the mid-70s to mid-80s during the same period.
After Saturday’s forecast of 59 degrees, Salt Lake City looked for a high temperature Sunday of 61 with Monday’s reading to hit 68 degrees; Ogden was forecast for highs of 57, 59 and 66, respectively; Provo 59, 62 and 69; Logan 55, 59 and 65; Wendover 60, 62 and 66; Duchesne 61, 62 and 66; Cedar City 64, 64 and 66; St. George 82, 78 and 81; and Moab 79, 79 and 80 degrees.
