Northern Utahns looked for a cooler and windy Saturday with an increasing chance for intermittent showers throughout the region, while southern Utah was forecast to remain warm, dry and at risk for wildfires.
The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook through the weekend for the entire state, warning that some mountain locations could receive new snowfall as a Pacific storm system meandered over the northern third of Utah. Winds of 20-26 mph were expected with gusts as high as 40 mph in the southern third of the state, elevating the risk of rapidly spreading wildfires and triggering a "Red Flag" fire danger warning.

The Wasatch Front looked for high temperatures to dip into the upper-50s on Saturday, markedly down from the low-70s forecast for Friday. Southern Utah, however, was expected to bask in temperatures ranging from the high-70s to low-80s.
Air quality statewide was rated "Green," or satisfactory, according to the Utah Division of Environmental Quality.
Salt Lake City’s high temperature Saturday was expected to hit 61, following the 72 degrees forecast for Friday; Ogden expected 60 degrees, after Friday’s 69; Provo 62 and 73, respectively; Logan 59 and 66; Wendover 62 and 71; Duchesne 66 and 77; Cedar City 66 and 75; St. George 82 and 86; and Moab 81 and 82.
