Oceanside, Ore. • A 34-year-old skydiver from Utah has died after his parachute failed to open on time, and investigators in Tillamook County are searching the scene for his helmet cameras.
Matthew Gold, of Salt Lake City, was in Oceanside, Ore., for an annual gathering of paragliders when he fell to his death Saturday. It happened near Tillamook Airport.

The Oregonian reported Tuesday that Gold was wearing a wingsuit, a one-piece suit with wings under each arm and one wing between the legs.
Tillamook Sheriff Andy Long says he believes someone took Gold’s helmet cameras, which are evidence in the investigation.
Friends described Gold as an experienced skydiver, wingsuiter and paraglider whose passion for the sport took him all over the world.
