Two firefighters suffered heat exhaustion Tuesday while battling a wildfire northeast of Toquerville.
The fire, which was caused by people burning debris, was estimated to be 500 acres and was 30 percent contained as of Tuesday night, according to BLM spokesman Nick Howell.
Both of the firefighters affected by heat exhaustion had recovered by Tuesday night, Howell said. One was treated at the scene and the other was taken to a hospital for observation.
Crews were pre-burning brush in the fire's path and planned to do fly-overs on Wednesday morning to more accurately assess the fire's size and boundaries.
