A man was in critical condition late Thursday after being hit by a van in Salt Lake City.
Police Lt. Bryce Johnson said a minivan was westbound about 10:05 p.m. on 400 South when it struck the pedestrian near 900 East. Johnson said police weren’t sure what the pedestrian was doing in the street, and said he wasn’t in a crosswalk when struck. Johnson said it was raining at the time, which made it harder to see.
