Tuesday was expected to start out soggy and wet for many northern Utah residents.
The rain was expected to move out by midday, at least for a little while, leaving cloudy skies behind. Come Wednesday, meteorologists said there was about a 40 percent chance that rain would return to the region.

The good news was that rain was expected to leave northern Utah in time for the weekend, which was expected to be sunny and warm.
The Utah Avalanche Center said a "moderate" chance of slides remained for all of Utah’s mountains except the Moab and Manti Skyline mountains, which were not rated Tuesday morning.
The air quality statewide was listed as "good," according to the Utah Division of Environmental Quality.
Salt Lake City looked for a high temperature of 63 on Tuesday and 62 on Wednesday; Ogden was expected to top out at 62 and 60, respectively; Provo, 65 and 65 Logan, 62 and 60; Wendover, 67 and 66; Duchesne, 64 and 65; Cedar City, 65 and 70; St. George, 79 and 84; and Moab, 76 and 78.
