While Monday was expected to start off beautiful, meteorologists say rain may return by the end of the day.
But for Monday morning commuters, the day was expected to be pleasant with sunny skies and temperatures topping out in the 60s. However, the National Weather Service had forecast a 20 percent change of rain showers starting after midnight in northern Utah. Those rain showers were expected to linger through most of the day Tuesday.

Southern Utahns were expected to see a sunny week with no rain predicted.
The Utah Avalanche Center said a "moderate" chance of slides remained for all of Utah’s mountains except the Moab and Manti Skyline mountains, which were not rated Monday morning.
The air quality statewide was listed as "good," according to the Utah Division of Environmental Quality.
Salt Lake City looked for a high temperature of 64 on Monday and 62 on Tuesday; Ogden was expected to top out at 62 and 62, respectively; Provo, 63 and 64; Logan, 62 and 61; Wendover, 66 and 67; Duchesne, 61 and 65; Cedar City, 59 and 67; St. George, 72 and 81; and Moab, 65 and 74.
