Three men in Utah County could face up to life in prison for a series of armed robberies and thefts.

A press release sent Friday by the Provo Police Department said the men are suspected of eight robberies across Utah County, including one at University Mall in Orem.

The break in the case happened April 5 when a Provo police sergeant spotted a car matching the description of one used earlier that night at a robbery in Orem.

The sergeant pulled over the car. After a foot chase, two men from the car were arrested and officials say they confiscated evidence of the robberies. Investigators later found evidence of a third man involved in the robberies and served search warrants on locations where police say they found loot.

Formal charges have not been filed, but police say they will seek charges of first-degree felony aggravated robbery and lesser property crime felonies. The robbery charges would carry the possibility of life in prison.
