Two teenagers have been arrested in connection to a shooting during a large party in Clearfield last month.

Clearfield Police said they arrested a 19-year-old and 15-year-old, but they still aren't sure who was the shooter in the March 17 incident that injured five party-goers.

The 19-year-old Brigham City man was arrested Tuesday. Police believe he is a member of an Ogden-based gang. Police said witnesses were able to identify the man, and his car was at the home at the time of the shooting.

He was booked into the Davis County Jail on suspicion of rioting and obstruction of justice. Police said they believe he participated in the fight that led to the shooting, and he also drove other suspects away from the party after the shooting occurred.

On Wednesday, Clearfield detectives arrested a 15-year-old boy believed to be a part of a rival gang. Police believe the Clearfield resident was fighting with rival gang members during the party. He was taken to the Farmington Bay Youth Center on suspicion of rioting.

It was originally reported that four people were shot at the large party, including the 16-year-old girl who threw the party while her parents were away from their home, located near 150 North and 1200 West. However, police said the 15-year-old who was arrested had also been shot in the leg, but never reported the injury and never sought medical attention.

Assistant Chief Mike Stenquist said although they've made the two arrests, they still aren't sure who actually shot the gun. He said all the evidence indicates that only one gun was used in the shooting. He said police are working to apprehend others who were involved in the incident.

The police department is seeking assistance from the public. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 801-525-2837.
