In Sunday's editor column, Tim Fitzpatrick pointed out that since our implementation of new, more aggressive efforts to chase away the "problem children" in our comments areas online, we've seen a dramatic improvement.
We have more people commenting and more people reading comments than ever, yet we are removing fewer comments and banning fewer commenters, in part thanks to these efforts, and in part thanks to our commenting community as a whole.
