Traffic resumes in Spanish Fork Canyon a day after semi crash

U.S. Highway 6 in Spanish Fork Canyon was opened to traffic Friday morning about 12 hours after two semitrailer trucks collided.

A Carbon County dispatcher said the highway opened about 5:30 a.m.

The two trucks crashed about 6 p.m. Thursday near the junction with U.S. Highway 89. One truck was hauling a load of gasoline, said Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Todd Johnson.

One person suffered minor injuries, and gasoline was leaking from one of the trucks.

U.S. Highway 89 also was closed for about 40 miles Thursday south of the junction, Johnson said. That road also was open on Friday.
