Weber County authorities arrested three men Thursday morning after they were allegedly spotted burglarizing a home in Ogden Canyon.
Sheriff’s Office Lt. Mark Lowther said deputies received a call about 7:40 a.m. that four men were removing property from a home in the 200 block of Ogden Canyon while the owner was away. As deputies responded, Lowther said, the men climbed into a green Jeep Cherokee and started to drive away.

A deputy was waiting for them at the mouth of the canyon, but when she attempted to stop them, the quartet, Lowther said, refused to stop and turned into a condominium complex. After they failed to shake the deputy, the four bailed out and were ordered to stop at gunpoint, he said.
One suspect complied and was taken into custody. The other three fled into the nearby foothills.
Deputies said they found a second man hiding in the foothills and arrested him.
The two others were spotted walking about a half-mile away. An Ogden police detective captured a third man, who had an outstanding warrant for burglary, Lowther said. The fourth suspect evaded capture, but Lowther said he was confident deputies would eventually catch him.
Lowther said he wasn’t sure what items the men were attempting to steal and how they chose their victim, but he said deputies were able to recover all the stolen property.
