A 36-year-old Sandy man has been charged with voyeurism for allegedly setting up cameras in his estranged wife's bedroom.

The woman told police that on March 25, 2011, she found a digital video recording device and two cameras in the attic above her master bathroom and bedroom, according to documents filed in 3rd District Court.

The camera in the bathroom was in operation but the one in the bedroom had not been fully installed, charging documents state.

Police said the camera in the bathroom captured images of the woman using the toilet and getting out of the shower. The woman gave police the pictures, including images showing her estranged husband installing the equipment, charging documents state.

The woman filed for a civil stalking order against her husband last March, two months after she filed for divorce, court records show.

The man admitted to installing the video recording devices, charges state.

He was charged with one count of voyeurism, a class A misdemeanor, and one count of attempted voyeurism, a class B misdemeanor.
