Police spokesman Justin Hoyal said no one was injured in the slide, reported at about 12:35 p.m., which occurred in the White Pines area of the canyon.

The road was reopened at 1:40 p.m.
Hoyal said the avalanche appeared to be natural and very little snow ended up on the roadway.
