Little Cottonwood Canyon was closed for about two hours Friday afternoon because an avalanche crossed the road, the Unified Police Department reported.
Police spokesman Justin Hoyal said no one was injured in the slide, reported at about 12:35 p.m., which occurred in the White Pines area of the canyon.

The road was reopened at 1:40 p.m.
Hoyal said the avalanche appeared to be natural and very little snow ended up on the roadway.
