Firefighters from Salem, Spanish Fork and Payson rushed to the scene of a blaze that destroyed a Salem city storage building Friday.
Salem Public Safety Chief Brad James said the fire, in a metal shop building at 250 N. 480 West, was reported just before 11:30 a.m. No injuries were reported, but the flames destroyed a one-ton flatbed truck parked inside, along with other items still being inventoried.

"The building is a total loss. We don’t have a firm damage estimate yet," James said. "Fire investigators will try to determine the cause, but we do know there was electricity coming into the building and a heating unit inside."
In all, 24 firefighters fought the blaze into early Friday afternoon, when it was doused.
