An Ogden woman has pleaded guilty to causing the 2010 crash that killed a 64-year-old man in Farr West.

On Aug. 13, 2010, Katelyn Young, 19, collided with Kenneth Alan Cox, who was riding a motorcycle. Prosecutors say Young had never obtained a drivers license and failed to yield to Cox at an intersection.

Young pleaded guilty last week in 2nd District Court to negligent homicide, a class A misdemeanor. As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors will recommend Young serve four months in jail with work release.

Cox was active in promoting motorcycle safety in Utah, and his family has requested Young conduct public safety presentations at local schools if any community service is imposed at the April 12 sentencing.
