Johnson said the man told police he and a friend were walking around the neighborhood when a car full of men pulled up. The man told police that he and the men got into a verbal altercation and suddenly a couple of the men in the car jumped out and stabbed him.
Police said the man is expected to survive.
Johnson said police were investigating the man’s story. He said no arrests had been made. He said the victim did not provide police with any real leads to go on, including descriptions of the assailants, the car involved or the name of the friend who he was apparently walking with.
However, Johnson said it did not appear the incident was gang-related.
