Former "American Idol" semifinalist Tamara Taylor Vaifanua was out of Washington County’s jail Friday, pending prosecution for alleged thefts in Sandy dating to September 2010.

Vaifanua, 20, of Hurricane, was arrested Wednesday by Hurricane police on outstanding warrants for two counts of Class B misdemeanor theft. Vaifanua reportedly had failed to appear in court on the Sandy charges, resulting in the arrest warrants being issued. She posted $2,529 bail on Thursday and was released.

No new court dates had immediately been set, but she has until Thursday to contact Sandy City Justice Court to set up a hearing.

In 2008, Vaifanua made the semifinals in "American Idol" before being eliminated.
