A 16-year-old boy was upgraded Friday from critical to serious condition, two days after he fell while attempting to climb from the passenger-side window into the bed of a moving pickup truck.
West Jordan police Officer J.C. Holt said doctors reported that the boy, whose name was not released, had been stabilized and was making improvement in his recovery from head injuries he suffered in the 3 p.m. Wednesday accident.

The incident remained under investigation, and no citations or charges had been filed as of Friday.
The boy was in the truck with the 18-year-old driver near 9044 S. Granada Hills Drive (4730 West) when the 16-year-old decided to get into the back of the truck. When the driver looked to see what his passenger was doing, the driver swerved and overcorrected; the teen lost his balance and fell to the pavement.
Both the victim and driver are students at Copper Hills High School and were believed to have been on their way home from classes at the time of the accident.
