A South Salt Lake man will spend at least five years in prison for raping a traveling knife saleswoman last summer.

Philip Doe, 25, was sentenced Monday in 3rd District Court to five years to life in prison for the July attack on the 18-year-old woman.

According to charges, Doe invited the woman into his home and gave her a large glass of vodka during her sales pitch. Then the man pulled off her clothes and raped her.

"Just kill me, I don’t want to live through this pain," the woman reportedly pleaded with Doe, according to the charges.

The saleswoman told police that she later locked herself in a bathroom and crawled out a window. She ran to a neighbor’s house and called 911.

Doe pleaded guilty in December to a first-degree felony count of rape and a misdemeanor alcohol charge. An aggravated kidnapping charge was dismissed as part of a plea deal.
