The Utah weather forecast this weekend calls for sunny weather with high temperatures in the low- to mid-40s in the north and low- to mid-50s in the southern half of the state.
The National Weather Service said Saturday’s canyon winds along the peaks of Salt Lake and Tooele counties, in the 20-30 mph range, would abate by Sunday. The same was predicted for southern Utah, where canyon winds were expected to reach 25 mph Saturday before giving way to calmer and mostly clear skies on Sunday.

The Utah Avalanche Center issued a uniform "orange," or considerable risk grade for mountain snow slides statewide through Sunday.
Air quality was "green," or healthy for the entire state, according to the Utah Division of Environmental Quality.
Salt Lake City expected a high temperature of 42 degrees Sunday in the wake of Saturday’s 44; Ogden looked for 41 and 42 degrees; Provo 44 and 45; Logan 39 and 40; Wendover 38 and 42; Duchesne 37 and 38; Cedar City 39s; St. George 55s; and Moab 44 and 45 degrees.
