The International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race, which began Jan. 27 in Jackson Hole, ended Saturday in Park City — sort of.
The annual race, which included stages in Lander, Pinedale, Alpine, Kemmerer and Evanston, this year included more than 20 mushers and their teams from as far away as Scotland.

It was to end in Park City but this year a lack of snow on the route from Evanston to Park City prompted organizers to turn Saturday’s festivities into simply a chance to give sled rides to school children.
It is the largest dog sled race in the lower 48 states. It was founded in 1996 by Frank Teasley to make sled dog racing more accessible to the public.
