The 19-year-old woman who died Sunday at Canyons Ski Resort after she fell from a chairlift has been identified as Asha Davenport.

Investigators said Davenport, a student at the University of Utah, was riding with friends in the High Meadow lift when she suffered a seizure about 11:50 a.m., and fell 30 feet to the ground.

Davenport suffered severe trauma and was treated on scene by Canyons medical ski patrol and a medical helicopter staff. She was pronounced dead at the scene just after 12:30 p.m., stated a news release from Summit County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators said there were no mechanical issues with the lift.

The High Meadow lift serves beginner runs to the mid-mountain Red Pine Lodge and the top of the gondola.
