Interstate 80 is scheduled to close in Summit County during the next two weekends as crews demolish and replace bridges over the Weber River near Echo Junction.
Westbound I-80 is scheduled to shut down Friday from 9 p.m. through Saturday at 2 p.m. Traffic coming from the Wyoming line toward Salt Lake City is advised to use Interstate 84 as an alternate.

The next weekend, eastbound I-80 will be closed at Coalville from Feb. 4 at 9 p.m. through Feb. 5 at 2 p.m.
Both closures depend on weather conditions. A video of suggested detours is available at udot.utah.gov/renovateI80.
Both bridges are being replaced with "accelerated bridge construction" technology.
New bridges are being built adjacent to the existing ones, and then will be slid into place overnight.
That reduces delays for construction from months to days.
