She then collided with a 2007 Freightliner semi-trailer rig driven by Dick Garoutte, 51, of Clearfield, Utah. Garoutte was uninjured, but Shira was dead at the scene of the accident. Her husband, Bryson Shira, 26, and two young children were treated for minor injuries at Cassia Regional Medical Center in Burley. All occupants of both vehicles were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
The eastbound lanes were blocked for about two and a half hours during the investigation. No citations were issued.
